Totally worth the money and the calories! Turtle took us to five local spots serving iconic Da Nang and Vietnamese dishes—some of which we wouldn’t have found on our own. The itinerary was thoughtfully paced, with market visits and smaller walks in between meals, giving our stomachs enough time (and space) to gear up for the next bite. Turtle’s energy and passion for food were contagious, and he shared plenty of cultural insights and even a few Vietnamese phrases along the way. He’s also just a chill guy to chat with about anything. Cảm ơn Turtle! Highly recommend this tour!

It was excellent. Turtle made excellent food choices for us to experience. He took us to two of his own favourite restaurants and a street stop. They were not tourist stops but places loved by the locals. It truly was the best Vietnamese food we have had since arriving 5 days ago. The not cruise was just long enough to see some highlights along the river. We enjoyed it, too. If you are looking for a guide that is knowledgeable and aiming to please his guests, we recommend Turtle.

Turtle was enthusiastic, excited to have us and was never short on something to share or tell us about Da Nang. His love for the city and the passion that he shared about that love was in full display. He was easy, fun to be around and was always smiling, eager to know how we felt, what we thought and ensured that everything was not only good but great. The food tastings, the restaurants, the market, both the more popular and lesser known places that he showed us were a real treat and an eye opener. I’m such a fan of Vietnamese food now, more than I ever was before. Having a personal driver was a bonus. It felt like a 5 star experience. At no point did we feel overwhelmed, unsure or unsafe either., We didn’t have to think about a thing. He organized everything, down to the boat tickets, getting us in line and there was never a sense of being lost. I wouldn’t have known what to do on my own. The cruise to the dragon bridge was spectacular. Such a wonderful experience.

We had an excellent time with Turtle. He took us to visit Con and Han markets where we tried lots of local delicacies we wouldn’t have known to order. Then we visited 3 restaurants and tried the most delicious foods. There was so much food I feel like we rolled to the boat to see the city lights and dragon fire show. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Da Nang who loves food and wants to visit places you’d probably never find yourself. Turtle is an amazing guide who has a wonderful passion for food and sharing his love and knowledge of his city!

This tour ended up being essentially private. Simply Vietnam Travel provided a tour guide, named Turtle, and an SUV and driver. The tour began with visits to two of Da Nang’s markets. Turtle set us loose in famous Han Market downtown, but gave us a more focused introduction to the much more local Con Market. On the rest of the tour, we sampled a range of Vietnamese snacks at Con Market, and then were driven to a series of places serving characteristic Da Nang foods. Some were places we likely wouldn’t have found ourselves. All were good. When the tour shifted to Da Nang Dragon Bridge, Turtle arranged places for us on one of the many river cruises that take in the fire-and-water bridge night show. He was assiduous in making sure we got on board the right boat (there are many!). The bridge show itself was good fun; it’s certainly not to be missed if you’re in Da Nang over a weekend. Overall, we found this tour to be a good use of time, and would recommend it.
